The OliveCulture ScaleUp Project actively participated in FoodAg Expo 2025 in Karachi, highlighting the rapid development of Pakistan’s olive sector and strengthening international collaboration to support the country’s growing olive value chain.
During the event, Dr. Costantino Parma, Regional Area Manager at CIHEAM Bari, held a productive meeting with H.E. Jam Kamal Khan, Federal Minister for Commerce. The discussion focused on exploring new opportunities to strengthen Pakistan’s olive value chain, improve market access, and expand collaboration to support the country’s emerging olive industry.

The OliveCulture ScaleUp team also engaged with representatives from the International Olive Council (IOC), presenting ongoing initiatives aimed at developing Pakistan’s olive sector. Discussions explored potential cooperation in areas such as accreditation, certification, research collaboration, and quality assurance, which are essential for aligning Pakistan’s olive oil production with international standards.
As part of the expo, an insightful seminar titled “Opportunities in the Olive Value Chain in Pakistan” brought together international experts to discuss the sector’s growth potential and future prospects. The seminar featured contributions from:
- Ms. Maria Juarez (International Olive Council)
- Dr. Abderraouf Laajimi (International Olive Council)
- Dr. Costantino Parma (CIHEAM Bari)
